I was thinking the other day while looking through a big muding truck magazine. Why not a chainsaw magazine? Where they show all the new saws, famous saw collections, overviews of saws? Rare chainsaws? I think it would be pretty cool, How many of you would subscribe?

Only if it were along the lines of Sunset. It would need to show places to travel with your saw, places to eat, and styles of decorating saws.

Perhaps it could be called Sawset. :msp_biggrin:

Naw, we have Logger's World out here.

But im just talking Straight chainsaws, maybe a couple of stories about a logger running a poulan wild thing for commercial use, that would be story! :msp_w00t:
Hot saws and what not!

Many years back there was a magazine called Chainsaw Age, IIRC. Chain Saw Collectors Corner (Mike Acres) has info on it.

In the age of the internet I think a specialized magazine just about chainsaws would have a hard time turning enough profit to stay in business.

Not if you have Ines Sainz's a$$ on the cover.

Now that would be a magazine I would subscribe too! They could have monthly features and such like the the Husqvarna 395XP -the legend lives on. Or the Stihl MS660 Quite possibly the best saw Stihl ever built.....all kinds a little articles with all kinds a saws. That would be awesome. They could even have a centerfold! Could you imagine a 372XPW centerfold?! Or a vintage NOS 044?! Talk about gorgeous! Certainly has potential. And I couldnt think of a better bunch a people to start it than AS members.

Thanks for the enthusiasm Hillbilly22. Do you guys think i should start researching what it takes to make a magazine?
Hey maybe some Models with a 3120 or a 880? Or..... a McCulloch 250?:msp_w00t:

Please don't take this the wrong way

Why?

Virtually all the subject matter is covered here or on other internet sites for free. The data is the latest and greatest and immediate. No waiting for each month or in a start up endeavor like this probably every quarter.

Don't get me wrong, it is indeed a neat idea, but starting any new venture in a print media format is going to be a hard sell to the investors.

The way I see it, unless your cutting pulp to make toilet paper, with the demand for paper media continuing to decline. there's going to be some hard times in the paper industry.

But what do I know. By the way if this post qualifies as a hijack, I apologize.

Take Care

What are you guys thinking for a name? I would like to get more peoples interest before i really started to pursue anything. Loggers, Chainsaw mechanics, arborists, what not. I would need alittle help with this as well, I am no writer that is for sure, and to young to much traveling (16)

I wouldn't want to make this some huge "Rolling stones" Magazine but just a 20 or so page magazine that people can enjoy while there on there "loyal thrown."
