Here about two years ago I got a Dolmar 7900 aftermarket big bore kit (54mm) from a defunct dealer lot buyout.
Being the quickie saw guru that I am, I thought It appeared similar, so I decided to measure it, and try to utilize it on a Makita DPC7314. I was already replacing the crankshaft bearings, and all it took was a small notch clearance to keep the piston skirt from hitting the edge of the crankcase. The stroke is the same on both saws, and everything bolts up the same. The cylinder air guide needed a little clearancing to accomodate the cooling fins. It tuned and runs very strong. I also enlarged the muffler outlet slightly, but retained the spark arrestor. It feels like it has as much power as a TS700 or a K970 to me.
It's been in service for about a year now, so I'd say it worked.
What's funny is the bb kit is cheaper than a 50mm kit.
