I tried an 8pin on mine with a 24" bar. It would handle it, but I didn't like the extra chain speed while cutting firewood. I derailed the chain and had to spend some time with the dremmel on the drivers which got dinged-up pretty bad. I did some testing with a 16" roller nose bar and race chain, and in a 10" cant, 8 pin is the fastest compared to 7 and 9. My saw has not been modded.
