My Makita 6401 with BBK just may have encountered a stock version:

My splitter is over in the corner curled up in a ball thinking about that Elm....

Actually, that elm split rather well after I let the rounds dry about three months. Once that bark falls off, it lets you know that the time has come. For this tree, I noodle cut the rounds into six blocks apiece. Each block still weighed over 60 pounds.
