I am thinking of getting an Echo chainsaw and am deciding between the CS-400 or the CS 440.
Any input on either of these saws would be very helpfull as this would be my first Echo.
I can get the newer CS 400 for $299 and the CS 440 for $270.
Thanks for any help that can be provided or any other suggestions added.

Welcome to AS,
Gary

I'd get the CS440, open up the muffler some and adjust the carb as needed( most are set to lean from the factory) the you'll have a nice light saw with a lot of grunt. I think it wieghts the same as the CS400 so go for the extra cc. Over on the chainsaw site most of them have never run a well tuned Echo, when I run them against Stihl and Husky homeowner saws they have more power cc for cc and a little less power cc for cc than thier pro saws.
