Echo CS 4910 and 501P Carb Question

When you folks pull the carb limiters on these saws to adjust the carb, do you leave them off or will the settings drift without the limiters in place?

Ones on my 490 are pulled and never drift.

I grind the tabs off and put them back on as it's easier to get a screwdriver on to adjust. Those tabs grind off real easy on a bench grinder . Steve

I always put them back on. Many carburetors I see without the limiters in place have bent jets from guys fiddling with a tuning screwdriver and they miss the head and start twisting and prying

That would explain the bent one this 490 I took on trade local.

I always wondered how the heck it got that way by last guy just removing limiters.

Same here, if you pull the plate cover off when pulling the limiters out just grind the tabs off the limiters, the plate will push right back in, then put the limiters back in.

The plastic tabs are easy to shave off with a pocket knife.

I thought they were all plastic but it turns out some are plastic, some are two piece with a metal bottom.
