general engines for stump grinders

I need a new engine for my stumper, it is a 25hp kohler.

Anyone have any experience with these? Think it is a good idea to throw it in my stumper.

The Kohler 25hp has been discontinued however, there may be some old inventory around. You'll have to go with a 27hp Kohler and make sure the application is for a stump grinder. I would get the serial, model, and application number off of the old engine when contacting a retailer.

Generac engines are used in Dixie Chopper mowers. The engines are very reliable.

Check out the replacement engine for 1625 Super Jr thread. I put on a 27hp Kohler to replace my worn out (I mean slightly used, it's for sale) 25hp kohler. Direct bolt in, I even put in the wiring details.

You can do your own research as well. I found 2 on-line engine dealers that seem reputable, I used opeengine.com (google it), has factory waranty, etc.
