Lots of live oak down there in the hill country.
Lots of vids of those unicorns on youtube, and they always make me wonder who the heck thought of that contraption.

That is some gnarly looking wood. Out here 99% of my wood can be split with an axe or maul. Once in a great while I have to use the saw on a crotch piece.
How many pieces per gallon are you getting?
I'm wondering about the height of the screw. If you had it higher, you wouldn't need to bend over so much. But, it may be better to lower it...then you could just roll the piece on the ground and shove it into the screw with your foot. No bending required.
