This could be the shortest thread in the history of AS. I haven't seen a thread about Ham Radio wood cutters since I have been on here for about a year.

I live in the farmlands of Ohio and cell phone coverage is spotty. In this one area I cut I always take my HT as it can easily reach a repeater about 30 miles away while my cell phone has no bars. I consider my HT another layer of safety when I am cutting. Are there any other Hams out there on AS? List your equipment...as well as your saws!! My call is KD8IEU. You can see my profile on QRZ.com.

N1UHH here. All my stuff is in my sig.

I never bring a HT anywhere, I have my cell and my 2-meter Yaesu mobile in my truck.

NC4AB here, way too many radios to list (I own a two way repair business) plus do volunteer fire / rescue work. Everything I normally carry are commercial rigs with a few extra amateur frequencies programmed in.

Not very active these days on the radio.

Used to enjoy working vhf and uhf dx during band openings and did some contesting, but the new QTH is not as favorable a location so I bought a used Yaesu HF rig.

Many years ago when I was in high school we had a ham radio class and I got my novice license (WN9LJO). Never followed up in later years but always wanted to, and still do by the way. How tough is the General Class test today? Do they still have that class?

What is a Ham Radio.....Have heard of them before, but never really knew what they are.

The list:

Kenwood TS-940
Kenwood TS-520
Drake B-Line
Drake 2B
Heath DX-100
National NC-300
Swan 350
Henry 2-KD Classic
50-yr. old Mosely TA-33, matching Ham-M rotor

KF4GDP, would be a General if I could have done code. 2 meter ht...Lanny

Don't need code for any ticket any more. If you can pass the written general, that's all you need!

I tried the general right after acing my tech exam, and proved that while I can memorize a question pool, I don't know too much about radio!
