I have some pines that are between 6 and 10 feet tall, and they seem to be having a hard time. They were under another tree's branches, which I have trimmed back now, but I want to know if I am supposed to feed them or treat them some how? I am not a tree specialist at all.

They look like half the branches are dead and dry, and there is not too much green. (NJ).

Thanks!
Dean

Pines, especially subfamily pinus :biggrinbounce2: (diploxylon) are needed to be opened for the direct sunlight at least several hours during the day. They dont tolerate the shade from the upside. In yours case the trees are probably very stressed and demand sunlight, what you was done now:dizzy:

In my experience with pines, when they're brown, dead etc they don't reshoot if you cut them there or cut that off. So dont go cutting the affected areas ... yet.

Keep up good tree health by sufficient water/moisture, a little organic matter as fertilizer like blood/bone and some mulch.

Now wait a while.

Be really good if you could get some pics.

Ok thanks, I will get some pics soon, although I think tonight or tomorrow I have to go have a baby! :)

Cheers
