Help-550 XP

I have a 2013 550XP,less than 40 hrs, was backup saw.Was going to use last week,wouldnt start 0-zero compression.Took to dealer, ring seized on piston, total fix about $400 ,do i have it fixed or part it out ???
I am not mechanically inclined so need to have it professionally done or ???.Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I second Spike, either for repair or just pay a little more and get a new saw.

Yes,finished using,filled with fuel and bar oil,sharpened the chain,put on shelf.

Well still not sure what to do, anybody have any idea what it would be worth the way it is.

Put up some pics, especially w muffler off, showing piston. I should think you could easily get $150 or more if its in decent condition and the cylinder isnt trashed completely.

I would try Pouring some marvel mystery oil in the cylinder and wait a couple days, won't hurt but just might get the ring un stuck. If it's not un stuck after a couple days I would try again.

Going to take it to a guy i dealt with yrs ago, thought he was out of repairs, honest as day is long, get second opinion .
