I just picked up a Homelite EZ Original that is complete and in very good cosmetic condition. The piston is scored pretty good. Does anyone know if a piston, rings, or cylinder are available. Any good Homelite parts sources would be helpful.
Let's see a picture!
I see cylinders come up on ebay once in a while. Same cylinder fits several Homies (EZ, EZ6, 5-20, 600 - I think) In fact, there are two part numbers that will fit - 55490 and 56182A. One has rounded fins on top and the other has vertical fins. Crank seals can be a bear to find and are not cheap. Two on each side, back to back. Same seal is used in the starter. You'll prolly need a kit with needle and seat for that Tilly HL. I see engine gaskets once in a while but I just made mine. There are two square keys that drive the clutch. These are standard sizes - I found in a neighborhood hardware store.
but neither of mine had any trouble getting spark once I filed the points. The WICO ignition parts can be hard to find
Over all, it's not bad to work on. If you're going to repaint, Massey Ferguson red is almost identical to the original red. New decals are also available. Lot's of fun to run - but not for long - as you already know, it's heavy!
not really on the wico parts phelon prestolite i have both them on hand just need some #s who knows i may have the seals depends on the part #
