After buying a CS mill on ebay and then realising that the Pro-Mac 10-10 I had just wasn't going to cut it I picked up a Jonsered 920 and while doing a google search for info on both milling and the 920 I eventually landed here and have been trapped ever since. Now I have another 920 and can't seem to stop eyeballing more Jonsereds.... or Husqvarnas.....or Stihls.......damn this is going to be expensive.:hmm3grin2orange:

I googled Pioneer P40. I was looking to replace it with a more modern saw.
I came, I lurked, I got way too much information.
After only 842 hours of reading, I bought a saw I'm happy with.

Like CBFarmall I came here from a link posted on the Yesterdays Tractors site and quickly went from 3 saws to ???, maybe 18 have not counted lately.

My hat is off to the moderators here as there is a nice balance of on topic, off topic, plain BS and feuding to keep me looking back here every day.

I just sort of stumbumbled in here. Sort of like tripping and falling into a hole that is deep and has sides that crumble when trying to climb out. Before "falling in", I was content with the saws I had and how they ran. This site has made me a malcontent!

Thanks for the entertainment/education, and Happy New Year!

I was on some forum regarding firewood and wood stoves. Somebody asked a chainsaw question, and somebody told him to go here. I followed the link.

Since everybody was talking about quality saws, and all I had was my two Poulans, I did not join as a member for a couple of years. Finally the Poulans quit, and I bought my two Sthils. No longer intimidated, I joined.

Since then all I've done is post about one of my old Poulans. :dizzy:

I was talking about bars and chains with my Carlton distributor and he suggested that I check the site out and do a search to see what the pros were saying. I snooped around regularly for about 2 years before actually joining. I felt like I had gotten to know everybody on here and liked the family atmosphere so I decided to join and hopefully make a positive contribution.

I had one saw when I joined here, then got another for free. I have since sold them both and have none.

I was shopping for my 2nd saw in the last month and was doing research on another popular "toolshed" forum.

AS member Computeruser took interest in my search and directed me to AS.

Visiting AS really helped me follow thru on the MS361, which was already on my short list.

I'm pretty sure my saw buying is finished for now, (.... boooo .... hissss ...) but I have already spent more than the cost of the 361 on accessories, thanks to AS research. :)

I arrived here while searching the web looking for tree interests. I thought that I might interest someone in a grafted Japanese Maple or Ginkgo and maybe sell a few. As it ended up I paid out...for a blue Dolmar 111i. Good saw (thanks eric_271). Zero trees traded or sold but I got some good info and a good saw. Also made some friends and shared some valuable info with many.

Superior trees are best.

Just wandered over one day from that other place across the street. Followed the crosswalk and it led me here.

Been real busy the last year, havent had time play with the toys. I dont get the chance to say much these days, but I still poke my head in the door from time to time just to look around.

Went to a climbing/ forestry supply store in Jackson to order new climbing rope, and the clerk asked me if I had ever heard of this site. Put the web address in my pocket and went to a Stihl store to buy some saws and they asked me the same thing. Poetic justice- could have gotten my gear a lot cheaper through a dealer here!

I was doing a web search for loggers and came across Gypo's old web site.
Followed the links from there and its been downhill ever since.
My only saws when I came here was a John Deere 50V and a basket case Husky 266SE. Now I have 68 saws.:jawdrop:
thanks Gypo
