Husqvarna 385xpg question

Hope I can get some muffler information about the muffler on my 385xpg. Mine is a 2005 model and the muffler is nothing but an empty can is this normal on this model, also is this what is called a jungle muffler? Thanks in advance for all the information.

Im not familiar with the 385 muff but the more open it is the better.

The jungle mufflers have a pipe opening on the front corner. The easiest mod is a 288 deflector. Just cut or drill a hole and then 2 sheet metal screws and its done.

That is pretty much it a hollow muflfler. I have a 2008 model 385 there isnt even a baffle in the muffler. Just a spark arrestor screen.

Thanks for the information I had never seen a muffler that didn't at least have the baffles in it.

Now you guys have me wondering. I'll have to report back when my order comes in from Bailey's with my 288 deflector and I finally get to muff mod it.

Did the same to my 385xp. The deflector works great on these saws. As well as many others to.
