I found an endless supply of pallets

Oak pallets are excellent firewood. Easy starting, hot burn. Low ash.
I've never found one that was chemically treated, either.

Cottonwood pallets? Not so strong, not so good as firewood. Good kindling, though.

You know, I haven't even see a treated pallet either.

I've just read the warning several places.

Another thing is to not burn things that are treated with flame retardants. I worry that shipping boxes and maybe paper packing might be treated.

Worked at a feed mill in my younger days and I can't count how many thousands of pallets I have saw through the years. Pine, poplar, oak, even some nice walnut boards. But yes, you will occasionally get some treated 2x4 stringers. Off topic, but I also saw that the largest pallet manufacturer on the east coast has went belly up.
