In 1974, when CIS fuel injection came out on Volvos, SAABs and such, we had a machine to clean injectors.
We were to source the Mineral Spirits locally.
This is from my automotive expertise and experience, not my chainsaw hobby. I can be wrong.

Mineral spirits and .... something else = really good injector/fuel system cleaner

If you leave out the alcohol, is it 1:1 mix with Coleman fuel and mineral spirits? I think this is implied, but want to ask. I have assumed before on this kind of stuff and it didn't work out so well.

Do that, or just use Techron. it really works to clean injectors.
In the early '70s I worked at Volvo and SAAB dealerships. We had little machines to clean injectors. They used mineral spirits, sourced locally.

How are you calling it snake oil when you have never used it or anything like it? You just make and assumption and it becomes fact? It's kind of hard for me to believe that you're 54 and never had a fuel related issue in your life. Nothing you have must sit anytime at all then.
