Thank you for all good advice. I always use premium fuel with husky 2 cycle oil. I will replace fuel filter and plug. Air filter gets washed after every day of labor. Saw will be 2 years old next month and I have never did any tune up,but it was not used too much (maybe 5 cords in 2 years). It always starts great when cold. When warm and shut down it restarts on first pull in 5 minutes after switching off. The problem is when I let it sit for 10-15minutes. It restarts but shuts down. When I give it gas it shuts down. Lately I noticed that if I keep pumping prime bulb while it idles ,the saw "clears" up within 20-25 seconds and all is good. Maybe it's just operator error, or maybe working in hot and humid weather didn't help. Sorry for long post, and thanks for any advice.
When warm starting, let it idle a bit before you hit the throttle. Try using the purge bulb before restarting, this isn't a primer bulb, it purges the air out of the system and lets the carb get gas quicker.
Ok, how do I richen up low speed jet? Forgive my ignorance, I have never done this before. I know there are 3 screws on the saw - T , L , H. I'm guessing its the L screw. Do I need special tool for it , and how much do I turn it ?
Use a small screw driver and open (counter clockwise) the L screw a bit. It'll have stops so it wont move much. This helps a lot with starting on these saws.

You have one of the best saws ever made! :msp_biggrin:

T = throttle, and is offset or apart from the opening for the H & L hole(s). You may need to make an eventually throttle adjustment. If you are too lean, the rpm will increase a little as you richen and then decline. RPMs may simply just decline and require more throttle (clockwise). You need to move the L screw counter-clockwise about 1/8 turn at a time. Check your throttle response. If you don't notice a faster throttle response, then just work your saw for a while at the new setting and see if anything improves. In other words, a little at a time. I am not sure how old this saw is, and don't claim to be a Husqvarna specialist. I don't even own a 346. If you have slotted screws, there may be limiters that need to be removed, or if you most likely have the EPA torque-hex head fitting screws. If you have the EPA screws, you will need a special carburetor adjustment tool that can be picked up at great expense on E-bay or on Google searches. Prices have jumped dramatically. You may be able to move the screws by pushing some fuel line down over the screw and then turning it that way. I have also seen people use electrical wire connectors, pushed down on the screws and the other end attached to copper wire. Worst case scenario is to spend a few bucks and have a pro tune your saw. Hopefully some small engine specialist will chime in and give both of us an education. Good luck.

I have a husky 346, warm restarts are problematic .Can you tell me how you solved it ?

I have found that the best way to get a warm restart is to HOLD the throttle wide open with one hand (choke off) while pulling the starter rope with the other. A little difficult, but it generally works. The Redmax/353 has a full drain-down fuel system, let the saw idle for a minute or so after re-starting to let fuel lines and carb completely re-fill.

Are you sure about that? The 353 has been around a long time, 10 years+? It the same basic saw as a 346xp and 351 that came out in 1998-99.

After looking back at the info on the Redmax site, you may be correct. It does have details resembling the other Husky saws, and I notice at all other Redmax saws are designated GZxxxx while the 5300 is just Gxxxx. Perhaps the Z stands for Zenoah. Interesting that you can buy it cheaper than the 353. I'll shut up now.

Well there is a connection, as Husqvarna owns Redmax. But I don't know the exact history.
I do know the 346xp, 351, 353 is an older Husky design and very good saws. And I've heard good stuff about Redmax.
