Jonsered 670 Champ?????

Does anyone know what the difference between the 670 champ and 670 super or west coast are, if any?

Champ uses 1 pc. ign. coil. Super IIRC has 2pc. ign. West Coast has full wrap handle bar and a different intake system. See last pg. of IPL.

The Champ is the same as the Super II. The West Coast versions were based on any of the regular versions (plain 670, Super and Super II/Champ), depending on when they were made.

I was told once the champ name came to be after winning saw races not really sure on it nor ever looked it up anybody else ever heard of it? but love mine good running saws pulls a 24" bar just fine

Yes, the designation was adopted after they won the WLC World Championship 3 times in a row with the 670 (1987, -89 and -91).

Husky called the 372xp "Champ" for a short time as well, much later (around 2007), for similar reasons - although some of those wins really was with the 371, 2071 and 2171.
