Hi all at AS,
I am repairing 2x064 spark plug holes.
I can only get 1 aluminium keen sert. The other option is stainless steel or steel.
I believe the stainless has poor heat transfer,so I think the steel one would be better.
Are the time serts you guys use steel?
Thanks in advance,Chris.

I have had no problems with steel Time Serts in many chainsaw cylinders , all of them installed with Devcon epoxy to lock them in solidly.
Same as Pioneer Guy with Time Serts never come across Keen Serts wouldn't use alloy that"s the material that failed first time around

If I remember correctly Brad Snelling used Keen Serts and claimed they worked great in aluminum. The Keen Serts have small pins one drives down flush after the insert is installed to the correct depth, thus preventing the insert from rotating. I have not used Keen Serts myself as I bought a big set of the Time Serts before I ever heard of them, the tooling and inserts are rather spendy.
