Octane rating has no effect on flame speed. In fact a faster burning fuel would have a higher octane rating as detonation takes time and the faster you can complete combustion the less chance you will deotnate.Pump gas is all you need. Lots of guys even run higher compression modified saws on 89 octane e-free. I myself run premium only. Anything higher and you're running slower burning fuel for no reason.
