oh and thanks for the h/u on the pull rope thingy...i thought he was just exhausted and cornfused from cutting (that cookie) all day and forgot which button to push/pull.

that steers me toward old homies...or whatever i find.

hey and in mr 610 op's defense, at least he didn't engage in back/forth sawing motion during the cut-as is found all over the 'tube. so maybe he has potential.

Operator pulls the starter rope out a few inches so that when the saw is turned off the the starter does not engage the flywheel and pull the rope against the handle into the housing. Trying to avoid broken ropes, handles, and starter components.

Not a bad habit to have but not really needed on most new saws. If you are a still lover think Elasto. If you are a Husky nut think replacement parts.

So how come I've never seen that on any of the other chainsaw videos here on AS?

and that's why they won't let me have a video cam.

i'd made the first 2 min as seen then...tossed it...came back and started again...then set it afire. all in 5-6 minutes.

might have tossed it afire!

He's just reaming the cut dude. It's an old time logger technique. When you are cutting big wood like he is, you have to get a little tricky.
