anybody run one of these toads? I’ve had this in my overflow saw trailer- loads of compression but needs carb gone through etc. do they run with the torque to justify the boat anchor like weight?

I don't have 1 or ever ran 1 but can assure you the torque will be incredible and absolutely worth getting it running. Will make that bar seem short.

If you have a big log to cut up there is not very many machines better from then or now.

long as I don’t have to carry the saw to the log..... may be easier to carry the log to the saw :dizzy:

It fires right up after primed with the prime lever. But then runs outa fuel. Carb will need gone through and likely new fuel line. I may build better exhaust for this saw..... little short pipe off the muff.
it sounds awesome :)

Your very lucky to have a working primer. Those are extinct now a days.

Do these old beasts not have a choke?

And what is this lever?

I’m 300 miles from home- and it’s killing me that I can’t put this saw on the bench and get it torn down. Started to on my tailgate and decided I better wait to get home :) carbs needs taken apart- not pulling any fuel from the tank.
Carb is the same size as the dirt bikes I grew up on- huge.

You can simulate a choke by blocking the carb bore with a sheet of copy paper when starting. The saw is ready to start without the sheet when the sheet gets wet...
