McCulloch super pro 81 giving me trouble, fixed!!

Check your kill switch for continuity. I have had old switches fail and remain 'off' when in the 'on' position.

I will look at that tomorrow. thanks for the reply. thing is driving me crazy, still regret the new 660 more than this though

after trying another coil it did the same thing. so I figured why not throw the atom module off the pro mac 55 on it to see what happened. way more consistent and better spark. actually started (first pull been sitting for days) and stayed running no cutting out or dying. and when shut off with the kill switch and flipped back on it started no problem. the only thing that bothers me is the crack on recoil where the shaft that goes to the pawls is housed. I'll try and post a pic of it, when pulling the saw over with no decomp (don't use them a lot on saws) it flexs the crack quite a bit. of course with a mac gotta hold that cord when shutting off lol I am one happy camper right now!!

bad condenser then, as the atom module replaces the points and condenser. congrats !

Yep I think that's exactly what it is I think! Gonna run it with the atom for now, maybe fix the points later on but might not. Thank you, now gotta actually get it in wood
