If you count the number of threads dedicated to the Stihl flippy caps, along with the number of dissatisfied owners....

:agree2:.....because we all know an internet poll is the highest measure of accuracy known to mankind, because it targets normal people and has the best representation of all demographics. Plus, most importantly, it weeds out those extreme people that just make the most noise about an issue and targets those that wouldn't normally be interested.

I've sent my new book off to the publisher, "Fwippy Caps: A Wuv/Hate Relationship". No word back yet.

For a bunch of self-sufficient tuff guys, there's an inordinate number of folks here with weak little princess hands.[/QUOTE]

Ahhhh, the Princess Hand Syndrome.
Found in many parts of Arkansas, and parts west, and north.:hmm3grin2orange:

Will all those who  their lovely Stihl Flippies, kindly raise your manly hands ? Thanks you.:bowdown:

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'.
You see, my fwippy caps don't like people laughin'.
They get the crazy idea you're laughin' at them.
Now if you'll apologize, like I know you're going to,
I might convince them that you really didn't mean it.

Have a lot in common with the safety linkage or leakage gas can prolly same engineer:dizzy:
I grew up on the square metal can with metal flex tube funnel and screw on no leak cap. I never once seen anything remotely unsafe about them and easy to pour. "I'd love to change the world" "but I don't know what to do oo"

The engineers working in the flippie division at the Waiblingen, Germany facility were under intense pressure from the sales and marketing departments. It was the opinion of the latter that the princess-handed amongst actual and potential customers was way under exploited.

In addition to the usual group of consultants, the engineers worked closely with a cohort of Orthopedic Hand Specialists. Noting the high number of saw operators struggling to loosen their caps, they gave this condition the name Princess Hand Syndrome. PHS is a frequent pre-cursor to an exuberant sense of flippie love.:heart:

Booga nailed it....again.

PHS is also associated with the NES ( Needing Eyeglasses Syndrome ). A 6th grade punchline from N.H. primary schools.:hmm3grin2orange:

 Flippies.

What should I expect to pay for a oil fwippie cap @ the dealer for ms440?

This dammed fwippie cap is drooling some oil because it's missing that center line string thingy mounted to cap with little ball that keeps the cap from falling to ground when removed with my warm hands that are inside a pair of gloves that I don't need to remove to remove fwippie cap.:yoyo:

So what do dealers charge for this super cap? Wondering if I should order one on fleebay. Anyone buy one recently?

Flip off

I have about 6 sets of the things out here, mostly they work. Sometimes they leak a little, not a real big deal.

Swap to A Husqvarna? I think I will stick with the fwippy cwaps over a outboard clutch. I would not turn down a 372 if I stubbed my toe on it tho...

385,390,372 are all inboard as well as some others just sayin fwippie:laugh:

The caps on this saw are attached to the tanks when filling and still work after 15 years of professional cutting:
Echo3900.jpg

That's one reason why I still own this Echo CS3900.

Echo gets a bad rap imo maybe a less powerful saw but plenty service-full life. I used to run many of the the evl's era and a few newer. I can't say much bad about echo for the dollar except for the 360 t climber. I did like the earlier 3000 I think it was called and the 346:cheers:

There's only 1 flippy cap saw that I run regularly, it's a buddy's 192t, that saw sucks, and I know how to run the caps, but once, while up in the bucket, something flipped one open, bar oil all over my left brand new redwing. I just put some on the other one so they both looked the same, work boots anyways. There is no need to reinvent the wheel, which is what stihl did when switchingt to flippys. I wonder how long it will be before they switch to something else.

Fwippin' Awesome

Well, still no word on my book deal.

However, I believe I now have a possibility to cash in on being the originator of the term "fwippy", since it is rapidly replacing flippy in common usage, at least here on AS. Couldn't even find it on Urban Dictionary, yet.

Well guess who started the flippy revolution?
