MS261: Broke my handlebar. Where to buy and how much are they?

Made a foolish mistake and dropped a tree on my saw. Luckily, it just glanced off the handlebar. Unfortunately, the handlebar is now broken.

Can Stihl parts be ordered on-line? If so, where's a good place to get them and what do these things cost?

i had saw with broke handle bar, went on ebay and found a good used one for a lot cheaper than new

I found a used one as well...but it is $55. Wasn't expecting to pay that much. Those German's though...maybe a new one is a lot more than that. Anyone know?

Priced one awhile back for a local tree company, if I remember correctly it was $70 from my dealer.

The MS271 uses the same handlebar, so look for one of those on e-bay.

The MS271 uses the same handlebar, so look for one of those on e-bay.

That`s not right. It depends on the exact version of the saw. The MS 261 does not use the same handlebar as the MS 271. A replacement handle for the MS 261 is 1141 791 1706. A other variant of the MS 261 (the MS 261 C-BE), shares the handle with the MS 271, but only this C-BE version.

The 1706 is at the top right,
the one that is on the ms271 is bottom right.

What is the difference I wonder?

The only difference that I see is circled, what is it? A different design?

This is a more recent change, btw. It only appears on Partsmart, not on the old Mediacat.
