'86 C-30 with a 350 and Turbo 350. Over 285k miles on it, but I drove it home 65 MPH. It drove like a new truck. Now, I just need to build some sides, and I can really haul a load home.:greenchainsaw:

Nice. I had a dual wheel c30 with a 12 ft flatbed for a while. Ya gotta put a lot of wood on them to make the springs squat.

Nice truck, I wouldn't mind something similar to that one. I would go ahead and get that window fixed asap before it compromises the door and interior...a pound of pervention, etc.,. ;)

na, just rihno line the interior....then you can just hose it out when muddy...a good weather proof seat cover and good to go..

Custom Window

Yeah, gonna snag a junkyard window this weekend for a few bucks, and get her weather tight. Not that there's too much to get messed up in there - it's a plain jane custom deluxe - vinyl seat, no headliner or carpet, not even a stereo, as that was an option on these workhorses.

I had a grin from ear to ear driving her home, though. I got out on the highway and mashed on the gas pedal, and that old Q-jet didn't disappoint. I was able to hold 65 MPH with one hand on the wheel, and the other in the back window all the way home. They don't make 'em like this anymore. I can't wait to see how much oak it's going to take to make the back end squat. Definitely gonna need sideboards.

Seriously, what is your 2011 truck gonna be like in 2036? Not gonna be this good.

Nice ride

I am curious as to what ratio the axle is?
If you start working it hard might consider a tranny cooler, and I kinda think you might have the T400 and not the T350.
Q-jets are great carbs!
You done good.

I'm gonna guess it's a 4.10 rear end, by the way it drives. My dad had the same truck, except with the 4 speed manual years ago, and this one has the same feel.

I'm pretty sure it's a Turbo 350, not a Turbo 400, based on the shape of the oil pan. Definitely gonna keep an eye on it, and add a cooler if needed.

Try not to beat her up too much, that's one of the cleanest 80's Chevy I've seen. Of course, here in Michigan, new cars tend to get rust after a winter or two.
