I need to replace the Muffler body on my Homelite XL 923. Leon's parts diagram says it's a A-63535-2, but I haven't been able to locate one. Does anyone know where I might find one? Or does anyone know of a comparable replacement muffler body or an entire muffler that would fit my saw? Thanks, O.

Can you post a picture of the part needed?
I have a spare used 925 muffler and maybe it'll work.

I watched Leon's video of tearing down a 925, and the muffler on that saw was quite different from the one on my saw. How does your spare muffler compare to mine? Thanks for taking an interest in my dilemma. O.

There are several styles of muffler available for the saws, I have the downward exhaust. The ebay link has the style you're looking for also. I'll measure mine tonight for you and compare measurements. The non mounted is not the one I'm offering but my new one, the other is available. If you're interested in the louvered style one's on Ebay.

Yes, I had seen that listing and decided, because it had the downward port, that it might not be the right one for my saw. Now, thanks to your input, I know that that style would likely work for me. But, I'd like to find one with a few less miles on it, if possible. O.

I just recently purchased this kit off feebay reasonable cheap a few weeks ago.
This would fit your saw only as a kit not pieced with your existing parts.

A-69864 is the part number, if I'm reading it right. I'm assuming that the muffler you just purchased one you plan on keeping. If I'm lucky and find another one on Fleabay, what would be a reasonable price to pay? Looks like you can pay anywhere from $40 to $100 shipped. O.

If you get a minute could you post a picture of the exh. Port and rings on your 923?
