Beech is some of the best...for us guys out west, Doug Fir is about the best we can get our hands on.

Actually, Doug Fir puts out more BTU per cord than Beech...

Spent my entire life low stumping, I was rebelling...

If it's firewood, why struggle cutting close to the ground with the felling cut. Work at a comfortable height to fell the tree and then go back and cut the stump flush! I have found this to be much easier.
