Ok.. so what is the best saw?....

Bit of a trick question here.. what is the best saw..

No.. not the single best saw to do its job.. although you can include that as well..

But if you only could own one saw period (ok hard on us guys with an advanced stage of CAD ).. what would it be... and why.

For felling, tree work.. bucking.. can you think of one saw that would or could work for just about any job. Now we will let you change bars if you like but not saws

Now it also depends upon what you do to some degree.. so has to be a bit of latitude here I guess..

Mine would likley be the 346XP or the 361.

Big enough to fell most trees (all be it some might be a little on slow side).. yet small enough to do most of the rest of the work..

Ok one is 50cc and one 60cc (frankly I do not really like the Stihl 50cc that much - even though I have a couple of them).

I do like the 372... In fact it is the only Husqvarna that I still have in my collection.

I don't own one personally but I would have to say a 395XPW with a selection of bars from 18" to 48" might as well have enough saw as oppoed to to little saw. This would be my choice if I could only have one saw to cut my firewood with as at times I don't get to choose what I take and some of the stuff I get is because the wood was too large for someone else to fool with.

It would be a 660/390/395 or something in that range. Would want to have more saw than needed than not enough.

I tend to agree.. frankly it sits in the truck about 98% of the time.. when I pull it out it is nice to have.. but the rest of the time I am glad to have something smaller

And realistically.. if I had to I could get along for 99.9% of the stuff without it.. but it is nice to have

ms-361.. it is light enough for limbing but with the longer bar it will handle bucking. i myself run a cs-370 with a 14" bar for limbing and a ms-361 for everything else

Now my one saw I'd keep is the 371XP ported BB. Light enough but but plenty of grunt for larger wood. I find it quite versatile.

I dont need any one of my saws, dont work or heat the home with them. So I would just hide them really well and only pull out one at a time.

no really i would like to have a cs680 but it still is on the list....my cs450p can handle most every thing i do but for limbing i use two cs370's one 14" one 16"....if i need more production i guess i could use one in each hand... but i better wear chaps...loloke:

Ok.. too lazy to look it up. That is a 70cc saw if memory serves me well.. and ported.

Still be a little on heavy side .. unless you got pretty big shoulders..

I am getting a little old I think to haul around that big a saw all day long.
