Glad you enjoyed it.

Yes noticed a lot of familiar things, 2 handsaws hangin in the trees, looks like two snowmobile belts also, possibly water pipe and pump left front, shovel and possible axe handles left front corner of camp and a padlock on the camp door. All the back woods camps I have come across don`t have locks on them. How far in the bush is this camp, a chainsaw under the camp or just sittin inside is not rare around here in backwoods camps. If you use these camps just clean up any mess you make and replace any wood you burn,a little extra is not frowned upon. Really enjoyed this photo as it brings back many fond memories from years past. Many thanks Pioneerguy600

This place was just about 1 3/4 - 2 hours by Otter plane northeast of Dryden, Ontario.
Place was called Morberly Lake. Our pilot didn't know this cabin was there either. Other than our outfitters' cabin, this was the only place on the lake. This cabin was about 6 miles by boat from the cabin we stayed in for a week. There were quite a few traps hanging on the back of the cabin - leghold types etc. so we thought it may be a trappers cabin . We had a great time fishing and finding this place made our trip even more special.

Al

Here's a pic of the backside:

Daummm I knew that was Northern Ontario but wouldn`t come out and make a guess, boreal forest just like I remember. Spent many days and nights canoeing up that way. Pioneerguy600

Yep; Looks like Victor leghold traps and ice tongs to take out the ice blocks from the otter rubs, probably beaver as well. Cut hole in top of beaver winter house, set trap inside near the water hole entrance and replace the house top . Wait a day or so and go check, the beaver gets in the trap and dives in the hole to escape and usually drowns. Yea those were the good ole days. Pioneerguy600
