Cedar grows like a weed on my property 1/4" or more between growth rings in a good spot. Although I hate to cut them down

I live between SA and Enderby.

I could see it. 1/2 an hour north from my place nets 4-6' cedar, up the hills and in some places here 4' (third growth) fir and west is 3-4' ponderosa. Each valley contains a different temperate zone and dominant species. There's plenty of 2-3' birch where I'm at for the winter heating season too.

Most of the cedar I've stuck a bar in's been hollow or close to it... I'd like to try my hand at milling or splitting (for shakes) the right tree. I'll have to explore your neck of the woods one day.
