Tree service dropped off an MS 441 off Tuesday night and said it died in the cut. That being said the owner wants it ported. But first things first it needs to run.

Not looking so good this fell out of the muffler/exhaust port.

After that I wasn't too surprised to see this

Is that the piston from that other thread about porting? The machine work looks a bit rough.

Throw a couple rings on her and let her rip!!!! . That may cost em alil money to fix and port.

Well it's time to see what's going on inside. So I start stripping it down looking for possible reasons for the failure.

Air filter looks better than most I come across

Locating pin let loose yes

The pin allowed the ring to float and in doing so it snagged on the exhaust port. Then the pieces of ring, pin and piston made sausage out of things.
