Propagating Trees (C. kousa, M. glypto) etc

I am interested in learning more of the horticultural/nursery side of our trade and am trying to propagate a japanese cedar and a dawn redwood right now from seed and a kousa dogwood that I might try to softwood cut and air layer because I have no seeds. Does anyone know any specifics about any of these species and their propagation?
