The person selling them gave me first dibs, I will probably get the 990 because I only see like 1 a year pop up for sale if that. The 770 looks real sweet with the engraved bar.

Is that recoil on the 990 the older bantam type and not the fm one? I haven't had good luck with the Remington recoils
Definitely is the Remington style. What troubles have you had? Mine are pretty reliable, spring is a bit tougher that the FM style. Winding it can be tricky but I have a couple manuals that lay it all out.
Yea the spring breaking and not knowing how to disassemble and reassemble lol. I took one apart to fix and it did not go good and now it's in pieces in a box.
So what's the remedy for stuck rings? It's a super 990
Patience and kroil. You can't know until you get it in your hands. Problem is pulling the piston means a 100% tear down of the saw. It comes out after the crank.

Would you buy it lol them 990 are harder to come by than Mac 125 I even seen a wankle Dayton and a solo twin come up recently but never a 990 this is the first one I have seen for sale in a super long time
Depends on how bad you want it. 990s are hard to come by for sure.
Figures this turd looking 660 I bought for parts has a pristine piston lol I would of never of thought it's a early 660 too Remington recoil and a small muffler like bantam or super 65 I wish this Mac I boughts piston looked this good i will probably make it run now lol

770 ships out today, 990 is on hold for a bit while I decide on purchasing it. Now I have the saw that matches my dealer banner
Muffler screen intact, engraved bar original powrflite chain barely any signs of use/wear there's still factory over spray paint on the rim sprocket

LA totally awesome FTW saw cleaned up nice and quick with alil bit of spray and elbow grease 
I definitely like the thumb pumper on that model!
Yea me too, never had that feature yet but it sure beats all the other manual oiler options they had. It works good too high pressure
