What breed is he to be so big and live beyond 10yrs?

He's half Golden Retriever and half who-knows-what, maybe Chesapeake because his coat is so thick. We've ruined clippers trying to trim him.

Here's a pic of him meeting my daughter's new dog. Typical Golden, he loves anything that walks.
