My thoughts on firewood.🤔 If it puts out heat and warms my home? It's good firewood. I don't care what type of wood it is! Hardwood or softwood! Don't matter to me. If it gets my wood stove hot enough
to cook a meal on it in a cast skillet? It's good firewood!👍🤣😉
each to his own i guess... but for me... when the call calls.... soft wood is never gunna cut it!!!!!

One of the benefits to growing up with your dad as a shop owner is access to a tire changer and an unlimited pile of rag tires!
no doubt! my dad was a certified/trained A&P during his career path... and many items, thots, ideas he had he passed on down to me and my brother! we are not the best, but in general can twist a wrench with the best of them!!! well... lol, maybe the shade trees! ;) i can still remember his thots on engine building. he was also an award winning gunsmith!! :numberone:

Oh man brother sorry to hear the news.. I can relate except I did catch it soon enough. Doctors saved my life again. Meningitis at a young age, numerous bouts of pneumonia and COVID and cancer haven't gotten me yet. I'll add you to the prayer list. I'm currently sitting on a tin porch in a nasty thunderstorm ⛈️⛈️ watching life roll on by. Grab life each slice at a time. Savor it even if it's bad. It can be worse..🙏
kinda like this posters handle :blob2:

Fixed it .
Tell your wife I said it looks great ;).

Birch scrounge! So we offered (which means wife offered knowing I'll take free firewood) to clean up a tree that had fallen in a friend's elderly parent's house in town. Someone had cut most of it into manageable lengths, which meant the large parts were short enough, but the smaller branches were left at 10'. Since it was in a residential area and the owners weren't home, I decided to borrow an electric saw from one of my daughter's coaches to cut it up so i didn't attract attention. He likes it a lot and had offered to let me try it previously and this seemed like the perfect use case.

Already have a few requests for birch logs for decoration. I'm going to have to start directing people to my Etsy store! LOLView attachment 1075491View attachment 1075492View attachment 1075493
