Sounds like me.... I got out the other day to do an inspection ride on the rail trail. Once I found a 6th tree that needed removal I turned around, rode back to my vehicle, and then went home... I returned with my saws and gear and removed the trees. I was racing a thunderstorm to get the trees cut up and forgot all about taking photos. I was soaking wet with perspiration from the bike ride and then soaked my tree work clothes. Upon returning home again I had one of the best showers of my life.
I'm surprised that they put them on the ferry. The bay would have been a better place for an accident. Hopefully the perps needed medical attention.
I use a tarp around me if I have to weld outside on a windy day. They work great and are cheap.
Curious, what MIG welder do you all like/have?
I have a Hobart 210 Handler .

I've shied away from buying off-brands like HF etc.
Looks like a flux core only machine . I don’t care for flux core doing body work. But for general welding flux core is good .

Think mine's a Hobart 180. Haven't used it a lot but seems to work well. Most of my heavier welding is done with a Lincoln stick machine.

Brought this down on Sunday. I went up to meet the mechanic and work on the loader, and drug the trailer along too. Took the air compressor and pressure washer just in case, didn’t need them. I had already started unloading it, that’s why the back corner is empty.
I've had an Everlast I mig 140 for about 7 years now, been a good little mig. Definitely huts above it's class, only down side is it needs a 30 amp breaker to run full peg, wish they would have made it a 110/220 volt machine. Anything that can't handle I'll grab my brother's Lincoln 250 ranger, or take rhe project to my dad's place. He has a 300amp thermodyne predator gas powered welder. It's a beast of a stick welder. Gas hog though. He picked up a 250amp Eastwood mig welder last year its been surprisingly good so far. Whenever the shop is complete I'll be looking for something in the 250amp range myself, and I'll surely not be buying a Miller or Lincoln.
My working "day" (all 3 hours of it) ended in 10 minutes. Yesterday I went to the willow bush to resuce my 32" bar. I had stuck it firmly in a big willow I was attempting to put on the ground It was mostly horizontal but humped up, over and down to a prop limb. 32" bard did not quite clear on the butt cut. Arrived this morning hoping the tree had settledd and freed the bar. Nope. decided to cut the prop limb out using my MS441 and 28" bar. Saw a s6" branch right above where I would be standing so decided to cut it first. Did so but now I had the branch inthe way and lots of green stems off of it. I've been plagued with teh cows in the way feeding on those delicious leaves. Since the 441 was running I used it to clip the side stems and promplt got the tip trapped in one of the stems. Reefed around on it to free it. Went to start the saw and chain was locked up by a section out of the groove. I could NOT get enough torque on the scrench to back off the chain tension. That neveer happened to me before. Bagged the work day and went 30 miles to a good dealer. Bottome line was a new bar (I had bent the tip a bit), New clutch, new rim sprocket and a new chain. The chaqin was optional but the mechanic said it was pretty stretched and would be better to start the new sprocket with a new chain. I love those people as they are serious about doing good job.
Tree is still there, I'll tackle it in the mornin g.
There were 2 other places much closer that could have freed up that chain tension but both of them would have handed it back to me with those badly worn parts still on it.
