My company does some light woodland clearing and we'd like to start to salvage some of the larger trees that we don't want in the woods. Can I just get a length of chain and some skidding togs and pull a log behind my Kubota RTV (in the snow)?

Looks like Forestry Suppliers has several options. Should I just get the size that will fit around the largest log I plan to drag out and get going?

Tonga look neat however a cheaper option would be a choker chain. I buy the c shaped hook from labonville 6 ft or chain from mardens and a 5/16 steel rod from tractor supply, for about $20 I can make one.

If you're going to be pulling many logs, you may want to consider a skidding arch. It will allow you to pull a bigger log and will be easier on your machine. Also, +1 on the chain choker.
