I once had an idiot bring back his Dixie Chopper in for warranty work, it was under a year old, and mysteriously ALL of his deak bearings were gone. I put the mower on the lift, and the whole mowing side of his deck was coated with thick grease splatter, and when you grabbed a blade, ball bearings bounced on the floor of the shop.

I called the customer, and asked him if he had been maintaining the mower properly. If he lubed the chassis, etc...

He sounded quite excited, "Yes, after every time I mow"!!!!!!
 
IL pump some grease in it new. And won't do it again unless I power spray the **** clean. I will wear the bar out before a nose sprocket
 
I greese mine before i start cutting for the day, but i usually only cut 3-4 face cord in an outing.
