My father in law recently gave me a Stihl 015L. Does anyone know what the L stands for? Is it a limbing saw? It is a top handle saw completely mag cases very little plastic so I am assuming it is an older model. It has a 14 inch bar with what appears to be .25 inch pitch chain. Also the orange color is alot darker than the current orange, is that the way they used to be? Anyway It has what feels like decent compression and looks pretty clean. The thing is the recoil assembly is missing. At least I am assuming it is an assembly like the newer saws but I am not sure. My father in law said he checked on it and the dealer told him 50 to 75 bucks for the parts does that sound right or not? Any info on the saw or parts would be greatly appreciated.

I think the L is the model with chain brake. It is a good small saw. You should be able to get the rewind of ebay for 15 to 20 dollars. Tom
