I was just wondering what the weight of a stihl 031av was?If it were around 10.6 I might look into getting one with a 16 inch bar for limbing and small stuff.THANKS,WOODYMAN.

Good saw though... that's all my father has ever used.. they run forever, are reliable, and have quite a bit of power for a 48cc saw.

That was my "go to" saw before I picked up my MS440 :)

They are a good saw thats all my bro-in-law uses and they have a huge house and one of those big outside wood burners that heat the house and the water.Wish I could afford one I think he cuts the wood to about 32 inches and doesnt split any of it.:givebeer:

If you have your eye on a cheap one go ahead and get it. When you are using them they really don't feel as heavy as they are. They are about as close as you can get to a bulletproof, reliable as taxes saw.

My 031 is a tank. Lots of torque, feels good and beefy.
Not something I would want above my head, or up in a tree.
