Stihl 066 and ATF

Like posted before -- ATF will thin bar oil nicely for cold weather/winter use. Many saws use plastic gears for oil pumps, so thinner oil is good in the winter.

I make my own "winter grade" with regular bar oil and ATF.

ATF also has many detergents, so it's probably cleaning a bit too as it runs through the system.
 
Isn't dyed bar lube required by law somewhere?

I have Stihl bar oil here in orange gallon jugs with no color in it.

Pioneer, all the Stihl bar oil I get at the Dealership is no longer red in color?
I was surprised too?
I have added a little ATF to it for color, don't know why, just did?:question:
