Well now that sucks. I've cleaned up more than a few and never seen that, it looks like the plating is just gone. I'm glad that this is not the first time I was wrong...I'm pretty used to it by now.

You may want to use the acid in shorter bursts next time. I have seen a few small pits before, but never like that. Still, I would not chuck it. I bet US chrome could replate that thing and it could be used again.

Yup, the jug is not going to work for you.

This is what you do:
1. Send the jug to one of the sites modder's and have it massaged.
2. Send modded jug to U.S. Chrome, they'll bore it, weld the pits, and replate.
3. Buy a used top end for the time being.
4. Once you get the trick set-up back from US Chrome, sell the used set-up you've been using, and install the badass topend and put on the smile.

Hmm....I might try that at some point, more power is always a good thing:agree2:! I definately won't throw away the jug but for now just want to get it running again.
Right now I'm waiting on some parts. I'm thinking of pulling the carb apart in the meantime looks complicated, hope I can get it back together and adjusted properly. I've seen some carb rebuild kits on ebay (one stihl brand the other tillotson brand) which one would be better quality?
