neighbor stripped out spark plug on his. is it possible to helicoil? or buy just a head?

The local Stihl dealer I frequent has a special tool for repairing stripped plug threads. I have not seen it in operation but as I understand it, the tool picks up and pilots on the couple of bottom threads that are either not damaged or at least still serviceable as the new threads for the insert are cut and formed.
My neighbor's son had his 025 repaired by this dealer in Sept. / Oct. last fall and it runs like nothing ever happened.
