I run my saws conservatively, service filters all the time, clean them, keep clean gas and use Stihl Ultra oil. But modifying or monkey wrenching on a saw I have not done. But I want my Super 041 to sound a little more vigerous, and maybe run a bit stronger. Is there someone who wants to sell me a modded muffler for the saw? Will it need carb adjustments afterward? Yes--I am a novice on this kind of thing, have 4 Stihl saws and ignorant about any modifications.

Which muffler do you have on it now? My 041 super has the factory muffler on it without a spark arrestor and it's decently loud.

I'll take a look at mine and see if it has a spark arrestor in it. Bought it new in 1980, hell of a saw to cut and last this long, still runs like a new one.
