my mac multimeter has a lead that came with it for use as a tach. i just cant see buying a single use tool when you can get something that will do the job you want and much more

its a model em 710 as for the refresh rate im not sure i understand that one
it has settings for 2 or 4 stroke and number of cylinders as well.
i use it often on my 1963 cub cadet
Refresh rate = how fast the display updates. Some tachs only update once per second. The better tachs update more often. The DTI Tech Tach tt20k updates every .5 seconds. On a fast revving engine, such as a 2 stroke, a fast refresh rate helps the tach be more accurate. Especially when using the MAX RPM feature.
most multimeter tachs only go up to 12000rpm so they are really only good for setting idle speed and working on older saws they cant keep up with the modern high winding saws
