Great photos! What's the story behind the logs? Were they left behind after a clearcut? One of those slabs could be worth more than the entire tree!

Wow! What a great view to mill some big wood at. Hope those logs were close to a landing. It looks pretty steep there. It's always amazing where people mill at. My "lay down yard" seems very boring compared to some of the pictures I've seen here. Simply awsome!

It was a big standing slab they cut down to get out of the way. After we cut it into 2 sections to mill we roped them up to a truck and pulled them into better spots, road was only 60 feet away. A couple of blokes are coming today to look at them actually so hopefully they get out the wallet.IMG_2544.jpg IMG_2540.jpg

Great work! So it was an old first growth stump that was still there, 50 years later or something like that, after the first growth had originally been logged, and the crew that came through recently to log the second growth forest cut it down to get it out of their way?

Fantastic that you were able to salvage it, how big was the mill you were using?

Looks a lot colder in the last pictures. How much mix do you go through with the 88? I just got one and haven't got to use it yet.

Not sure about the mix, not to worried about how much it uses. I just just keep fillin her up. Depends on the width of the cut youre makin as to how many cuts you get in a tank.

Guess where gonna be makin a lot of different types of tables if we cant get rid of it. hehe

Got a few peices that are instrument grade so who knows.

I just wondered so I would know if I needed to mix 5 gallons at a time or if 2.5 would be enough.

I always take heaps of fuel. 2.5 gallons, whats that like 10 litres? That'll last quite the milling session.

Ok in some of the hard woods with 90cc saws I was going through a gallon every 4 cuts 13' long. I figure the 088 will use more than they did.
