What guage is my bar?

I'm trying to find a new chain for my old saw. It's a Homelite XL-500. The saw collector's website say's it takes an Oregon 72D. I know it's 72 links and 3/8 pitch but I can't seem to find the bar gauge. Is it .050?

yes, it's .050 gauge

If you are ever not sure just stack up a few feeler gauges to get 0.050, 0.058 or 0.063" (most common sizes)

Oregon 72D is 3/8" pitch chain, .050 gauge.

Yes, but I wouldn't trust what CSCC say about the gauge - bar could have been changed out at some point.........
