I gotta echo the 361 votes. Great saw.

So do I, but don't say it too loud becaus I have a few others on board that will squawk at me. I bought the 361 in spring of 2008 when stimulus checks were being sent around. I used that check to help buy it. That might have been the best I could have done with the money. I still have the saw and it runs strong today,

Very reliable, just the right weight, and good balance. It set the standard back in 2008.

Poulan 4000 or Homelite XL 12/ super XL. The Poulan is a great size and weight for firewood and it's reliable and powerful. It's my favorite saw. The XL 12 is also super reliable and a classic.

I would probably pick a 395xp for this assignment

Maybe a good choice. It can handle anything and it’s simple to work on. Just stick up on a muffler or two and a hand full of oiler gears.
