which wheel for 325 and 3/8 chain. some grinder and chain literature say 1/8wheel for 325 and 3/16 wheel for 3/8 chain, some say 3/16 for both, most shops say they use 3/16 for both and every chain gets ground the same , no 10 segress for for full chiesel, and 30/ 60. whats right. Al

I'm pretty sure that it is 1/8 wheel for .325 and 3/8 LP (odd in my book as to hand file it's 3/16 for 325 and 5/32 for LP)

Im not sure of the size wheel but I believe 404 and 3/8 are the same also I believe a 3/16 wheel

I kicked this around myself

I have an Oregon 511a and all I had was 3/8 chain so I knew it was all 3/16" wheel. got a 200t..did some probing on here..use the 1/8" wheel for stihl low profile chain. charpened a chain for a buddy .325 chain..didn't give it a thought..used the 3/16" wheel..too much..soooo read the manual and cross reference it to the oregon website or whatever grinder you have. I sharpen all my chains with the same angles. 30-60-90(or 0 depending on the setup)
best thing to do is buy a cheap home depot chain and practice on something you won't mind throwing away..figure out what works best for you and WRITE IT DOWN..nuff said
